Tipper-type half-pipe called "Vasca" has a completely different design than most such constructions. First of all 8mm thick floor is made of high abrasion resistance steel with hardness HB = 450, due to appropriate bending it has semicircular shape and go deep on the side walls, causing them to stiffen. In addition, the side walls of a thickness of 4 or 5 mm (depending on the material) have two longitudinal stiffening running through the entire length of the body. With this construction, box has adequate stiffness while maintaining a moderate weight. Gervasi offers recently an entirely new system of locking the rear board in this type of tippers. Opening of locks blocking the rear wall was already carried out hydraulically by means of hydraulic cylinder placed under the floor, but now locks have been moved to the sides, so that the remnants of the cargo, usually deposited on the shovel does not hinder the correct locks closure. This is particularly important in case of loads with high humidity such as clay or asphalt mass though not without significance also in the transport of gravel or soil. Changing the location of locks, has forced the changes in the design of the rear hatch itself because another power distribution meant that it had received additional horizontal strengthening.
